Appointment System

All consultations are by appointment only and can be booked either in person or by telephone. Appointments are available 5 mornings and 5 afternoons. Where possible you will be offered an appointment with the doctor of your choice.

We have a range of appointments which can be booked in advance, on the next day or same day. Please phone at 08:30 for "same day" appointments.

Urgent emergency appointments are for conditions that have arisen or worsened the same day. Patients requiring an emergency appointment will be seen the same day.  Please try and phone as early as possible.

Recurring or ongoing problems are always best dealt with by the same doctor, whenever possible.

Please note some appointments inevitably take longer than others, please be patient if you are kept waiting beyond your appointment time.

We cannot guarantee that latecomers will be seen.

Extended Hours

Pre-bookable extended hours appointments are available on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception between 08:30 - 10:30.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments. We also use this to communicate important information and to contact you for annual reviews.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Please contact the practice if you would like to opt out of this service.

Training Practice

We are a training practice for GP trainees and we also have regular medical students on placement.

Medical Students

The Practice is frequently involved in the teaching of medical students. These are 4th and 5th year students from the University of Glasgow Medical School. Each student attends the practice for a five week attachment. They participate in consultations and at times lead the consultation with one of the doctors observing and assisting.  You will be advised at the time of making your appointment if a student will be in attendance.

If you do not wish them to be present, please let us know at the time you are making your appointment or when you arrive for your appointment. This will not in any way affect your treatment.

Video Recordings

As a training practice video recordings are sometimes made of consultations.  These are made for teaching purposes only.  Video recordings are only done with your consent and you do have the right to refuse.  However, we would stress that all aspects of general practice, including training, are governed by rules of strict confidentiality.

No examinations are filmed.

We greatly appreciate your help and co-operation with our medical student training.
